Holy crap we own a house...

So first a few disclaimers:
1. This blog was wholly inspired by our friends Cassie & Tim who also recently bought a house. They will probably be much more proficient bloggers than we will be and therefore you should also check out their blog: cassieandtimsfirsthouse.blogspot.com

2. The irony of this blog's title is that, in fact, we do not actually have a patch of grass to call our own. There is currently no grass in any part of our property. There are dreams that this may be remedied in the future. What we do have is a giant redwood tree in our backyard. However, naming this blog "A Redwood Tree to Call Our Own" would only make us sound more Berkeley than I am willing to admit we are.

3. Once photos have been posted, some people may wonder to themselves, allude or just blatantly ask if we bought this house solely based on the kitchen. This would not be entirely untrue. Of course there are other reasons that we bought this particular house (the neighborhood, good backyard, good space), but honestly Ben could probably write an entire post, multiple paragraphs long extolling the virtues of the kitchen, so yes it certainly did factor into our decision.
